Truk Stop Hotel and Dive Center ^{Suba Diving in Truk (Chuuk) Lagoon, Micronesia}

The Truk Lagoon Dive Centre was established in 2002 and is conveniently located on the grounds of the Truk Stop Hotel. While the recreational diver makes up the majority of our dive guests, we have the instructors and all the equipment necessary to take care of the technical diver as well.

We have three dive boats that are all covered to protect our guests from the sun and powered by twin outboard engines for better safety. All our boats carry communications, oxygen, emergency first aid kits, plus fresh water for our diving guests. When necessary or required, a hang off bar is available for dive safety when safety stops are or might be required.

Room features The Truk Stop Hotel has a variety of well appointed accommodations to choose from and all are air conditioned with private bathrooms, refrigerators, phone, built in closet, overhead fan, and TV with DVD player.
 Our Standard Rooms are spacious and include a private balcony which provides a view of our island.
 Our Ocean View Rooms and Suites have parquet flooring plus a full view of the Truk Lagoon from each private balcony.

 Our deluxe apartment is a very tastefully decorated one bedroom unit with a full bath and walk-in closet in the master bedroom, a kitchenette that includes a full size refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and blender, plus a half bath in the living room. This apartment also has a private phone, wired internet connection, TV & DVD player and offers the best view of the Truk Lagoon in Chuuk from the living room

Wreck Diving

Truk Lagoon is recognized as the world’s greatest wreck diving destination and for good reason. More than 60 World War II Japanese war ships and aircraft were sunk during Operation Hailstone in February of 1944 and now rest peacefully on the floor of Truk Lagoon. All of these sunken monuments are accessible to the scuba diver – most at a depth suitable for the novice or sport diver.

Reef Diving

Reef diving is one of Chuuk’s best kept secrets because the focus and thrill of diving Truk Lagoon is the wrecks. Truth is, Chuuk has miles and miles of mostly unexplored reef and on the rare occasion a diver decides to dive a reef dive they see a wide variety of big and small fish, turtles, and vibrant corals. It is further to the reef than any of the wrecks so it is usually a single trip in the morning or the afternoon.

Shark Dives

You can see sharks on many of our wrecks on any given day in fact, the Shinkoku Maru has what we call “a resident shark” that can be seen on most dives. But, Shark Island just a 15-minute boat ride from the Truk Stop private dock, is the best shark dive in Chuuk.

The Truk Lagoon Dive Centre has emerged as THE dive operator with the staff and resources to support your technical exploration and adventure when diving the wrecks of Truk Lagoon.
