Amba ^{Diving Liveaboard in the Maldives’ Northern Atolls, from Hanimaadhoo}

The wooden 33-meter long motor yacht, Amba, has been specializing in taking guests diving since 2004. Amba was a pioneer of diving in the most northern atolls of the Maldives - Haa Alifu and Haa-dhal, on 6-8 day cruises, always beginning and ending in Hanimadhuu.

Amba comfortably accommodates a group of 20 people on-board in her 10 spacious cabins: 7 Double Staterooms (13-16 sq m / 140-172 sq ft) are located on the lower deck, 5 of them with double and single beds, and 2 with single beds. Located on the upper deck there are 2 double cabins with full sized windows - 1 with a double bed, and the other with a double and a single. Located at the front of the upper deck is a luxurious suite with it’s own personal sundeck and panoramic window views. This cabin has a large double bed, TV and DVD-player. All cabins include private en-suite bathroom, individual air conditioning and fan.

The main deck is comprised of a private lounge and restaurant and a half-open deck (60 sq m / 645 sq ft) for relaxing. The lounge has a TV with a DVD-player and stereo system, full bar, refrigerator, telephone, library and a collection of underwater themed board games. Here there are electric sockets for charging camera batteries. The upper deck is for sunbathing and leisure - beds and mattresses, as well as chairs and tables are located in the shaded and sunny areas.

Diving is done from a special boat called a Dhoni, which stores all of the diving equipment during the entire cruise. As well as the yacht has 6-foot dive boat to accompany guests on dives and beach excursions. Amba offers up to 3 dives per day, and a few nights per trip, there is the possibility for night dives. The boat does not have rental equipment for hire, so each diver must bring their own complete set.
